I drive my hubs nuts because I research, read endless reviews and weigh all the factors before making a decision. Yesterday, I shopped Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel and Ikea in the Chicago suburbs. We tried the PB Comfort, and the back cushions I could just tell were going to be trouble. How do I know I can trust these reviews about Pottery Barn? In December, I purchased a PB Comfort loveseat and chaise that fits together as a sofa. I’ve learned a whole lot about buying sofas over the years mostly learning by my mistakes. I’m pretty partial to the Pottery Barn COMFORT sofa. I’m now doing homework on ALL of their fabric so we make the right choice for replacement but I don’t have confidence based on everyone’s reviews.

But the Pottery Barn sofa should be more comfortable for the price. Does anyone know if the Ikea Ektorp slip covers will fit on the PB basic sofa? I have the PB sofa but the slip covers are just too expensive to replace!.
We have a white slipcovered Pottery Barn rocker in the nursery (same white twill fabric they use for sofas) and it’s actually held up pretty well. I have the PB Comfort Slipcovered Sofa with a big black dog. I know what I like, it’s the Pottery Barn Basic, white slip covered,. It’s been great so far with minimal use – meaning we only sit on it a few hours each night. We’ve had two sofas in our 17 years of marriage the first one was leather and we had it for 9 years. I was noticing it’s not that comfortable, like some other reviews stated. We don’t have a Pottery Barn close by, but there is one about an hour and a half away if we get to the point that we are really ready to buy. I’m sure there are ways of getting slipcovers for PB sofas, though.
